Caterina Silva, Münster
6 oct – 12 nov / tue-sat h 3pm-7pm
The title of the exhibition refers to the Anabaptists who took power in the city of Münster (1534) and abolished private property, a utopian attempt to abolish the relations of power between human beings. Caterina Silva presents five canvases of the same format, and considers her work as a struggle with language, using painting to explore the obscure recesses of the mind; those which are impossible to explain in words but which exist and become matter. For Caterina Silva the choice of dimensions, colours and materials stems from a relationship with the body, freed from the ordering function of language.
