Conceived as a diary, this book re counts a period of waiting for an appointment that never took place. The story takes place during the three months Luca Vitone spent at the American Academy in Rome during the autumn of 2008 as an Italian visual arts Fellow. Page after page record Vitone’s vain attempts to reach the object of desire on the phone, the person with whom Vitone had planned to collaborate on a publication. The invisible and unreachable character is Emilio Prini.
