Riccardo Giacconi con Andrea Morbio

San Severino Marche (MC), 1985. Lives in Milan. / Montichiari (BS), 1984. Lives in Paris.

Giacconi uses a variety of different formats in his work, from video to performance, alongside a range of narrative models, from audio plays to documentaries, which help him to render complex historical and social scenarios, lingering on them in order to capture seemingly insignificant details in people’s lives. Morbio, an anthropologist who trained at the EHESS in Paris, focuses on European folklore and carries out his research in Lombardy, where he also produces his art. Since 2010, Giacconi and Morbio have been working together on the research project entitled Simone Pianetti, which they have presented in the form of an exhibition, screenings, performances and conferences. The project has been hosted by numerous institutions, including: Tokonoma, Kassel; Institut National d’Histoire de l’Art, Paris (2016); KABK, The Hague, (2015); tranzitdisplay, Prague (2014); MACRO, Rome (2013); Viafarini, Milan (2011); La Alhondiga, Bilbao (2010).
