Michele Manfellotto

Rome, 1977. Lives in Rome

Manfellotto’s video works are produced by assembling material filmed by the artist himself, documenting his life interpolated with the life of society as a whole. In the images accumulated by the artist, everyday life is rendered in keeping with the rules of the mass media, delineating a flow of life and non-life, document and myth. The artist kept a video diary from 2006 to 2013, containing more than one hundred clips filmed with a digital video camera and various mobile phones. This archive offers a non-linear and deconstructed account of the artist’s life through the figures that have populated his experience, portraying these key characters against a constantly changing urban and social backdrop.
