Invernomuto

Milan, 2003. Works in Milan and Vernasca

The preferred media of the duo comprised of Simone Bertuzzi (Piacenza, 1983) and Simone Trabucchi (Piacenza, 1982) are the moving image and sound, within the context of art otherwise defined by the dispersed yet precise use of different media. Invernomuto explores subcultural worlds by moving through different practices, in which the vernacular language forms part of a process of drawing closer to and developing an affection for spoken cultures and contemporary myths, observed through eyes that are not ashamed to be contaminated by them. The stated inauthenticity of the materials used plays a fundamental role within this process, emphasizing the fictitious and kitsch nature of the mystifications that inspire them. Both the artists have developed individual lines of research with the Palm Wine and STILL music projects. Their recent solo shows have included: Africa Addio, pinksummer, Genoa, MALÙ, Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Toronto, Artspeak, Vancouver (2015); Anabasis Articulata, Milan Triennale, Marsèlleria, Milan, Negus – Far Eye, Museion, Bolzano, I-Ration, ar/ge kunst Bolzano/Bozen (2014).
