Diego Marcon

Busto Arsizio (VA), 1985. Lives in Milan

Marcon started out in cinema, before gradually moving away from it and exploring more experimental, artisanal and self-reflective forms of constructing the moving image. His videos and films test the phenomenology of vision, proposing images that gradually darken to the point of total obscurity, or are so bright that the spectator cannot look at them, in both cases generating an inverted gaze in the viewer that penetrates the innermost self. In more recent times, Marcon has carried out research that turns his introspection onto himself. He uses animation to develop characters that, trapped by repetitive and autistic actions, become alter egos of the artist looking for meaning in what they do.
