Anna Scalfi Eghenter

Trento, 1965. Lives in Trento

A trained sociologist, actress and artist, Scalfi Eghenter sees her art as a revolution of the everyday, to be achieved through playful acts of alienation, which materialize in objects, installations, performances, conferences and works intended for public spaces. Interested in interfering with institutional organizational structures, as in Indeposito (2009), and in interrupting—albeit temporarily—the procedures and conventions of bureaucratic systems, as in Palestra giurisdizionale (2012), her work is difficult to categorize and goes beyond the sphere of art, as exemplified by Property Free Certification (2013‒ongoing). Scalfi Eghenter’s works have been presented at various events and institutions, including MAXXI, Rome, and MAMbo, Bologna (2015), Biennale Democrazia, Turin (2013), Kadist Art Foundation, Paris (2012), Palais de la Bourse, Brussels (2010), Fondazione Galleria Civica, Trento, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Guarene, and Mart, Rovereto (2007).
